Sunday Morning

We went for a long walk by the water this morning. I had a lot of fun exploring and met a few new dogs and people along the way!

Checking out some boats

I was very tired after our walk…this is the aftermath

Summer fun!

Betty here! I've been having a greyt summer so far. For starters, I got to go to my step foster parents when my foster family went on vacation. I had a blast playing with them and with their hounds. Who needs a vacation when you can go to Aberdeen, MD? Anyhoo…I've been a busy girl since I got back to my foster home. We've been playing in the kiddie pool in the back yard almost every day. It has been so hot and my foster brother and I loooove cooling down after walks. I'm not one for lounging poolside though; I much prefer jumping around in the pool, biting the water, and sticking my face under to blow bubbles. What can I say? I know how to have a good time!

How can you resist this sassy little face? Adopt me! I'm a real catch.

Look what I'm up to!

Do you need someone to rearrange furniture in your house? My dog bed is usually against that wall in the background, but I decided right here makes much more sense. I dragged it over to this sunbeam and promptly dozed off for my post-dinner nap. I mean, does it get much cuter than that?

Update

Dear forever family,

It's me Betty. I'm ready to come home! I have been having a great time with my foster family, but I am anxious to meet you and start our lives together! I'm such a good girl--I eat well, sleep all night, walk nicely on the leash, and play with my toys. I also love to cuddle. And on top of all that I have a few greyhound specific traits that foster mom calls "the icing on the cake." I love to roach (see initial post) and I also am a chatterer. When I'm happy or excited, my teeth chatter together really really fast. I think I've melted a few hearts with that one.

Here's my cute face

Here's me and my foster brother on the look-out for squirrels!

If you're interested in meeting me at the next adoption event, please contact the folks at GEGR. If you adopt me, I promise to make you laugh and smile every single day!

Just a quick note

Hi all,

My retirement adventures continue! I went to a meet and greet event a couple of weeks ago and got to meet a lot of people. The general feedback was that I am sooo sweet. I have to agree, I am pretty sweet.  I'm also quite silly when I want to be, but I thought it best to show my softer side at the event. I even got to meet some kids there, and was very gentle and let them pet my head.

I continue to impress my foster family with my enthusiasm for toys and food alike. They're always laughing and telling me how funny I am. If you ask me, I'm a catch! I've got the looks and personality.

Here I am staring at my foster mom who forgot that dinner should have been served 5 whole minutes ago!

A little more about me!

Hi fans,

It has been a fun week with my foster family. I've been learning how to navigate the stairs in their house and let me tell you what makes it easier for me…CHICKEN! I love me some chicken. I'll do just about anything I can to get some and my foster mom says it's a big plus. Something about being "food motivated." I don't quite know what that means but I think it has something to do with…are you guys eating steak over there?! I digress…

Anyway, when my foster parents get home from work they like to go to this place called the roof. I was not too keen on it at first, but I didn't know what I missing! There are lots of birds to watch and even the occasional fly to snatch out of the air. Now I like relaxing up on the roof just as much as my foster family does.

Here are some pictures from the last week:

We're working on capturing a video of me in action playing with my toys. I love my toys so much and get so excited to play with them! I'm also excited to find my forever family. If you are looking for a lovey, fun, and silly girl…I'm your hound!

Hello! I'm Betty. I am really loving this whole retirement thing. Some of my favorite things are playing with toys, eating, and exploring outside on walks with my foster brother. When I'm done with all of these things, I like to roach. What is roaching you ask? Well as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words…

Every night this week I have shown off my roaching skills

Some greyhounds do this when they are lounging around, or even when sleeping

While not the most lady-like of poses, it sure is comfortable!

I am comfy here in my foster home for now, but I would love to find my forever family. Please contact GEGR if you are interested in meeting me!
